ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Richmond field hockey team had its six-game winning streak snapped with a 3-1 loss to Ohio on Sunday.
Richmond concludes the regular season at 9-10 overall and will play Temple in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Tournament on Friday at 11 a.m. The Spiders finished second in the Atlantic 10 with a 5-1 mark.
The Spiders, who have finished in the top-2 in the Atlantic 10 in six of their nine seasons as a member of the conference, will be going for their sixth Atlantic 10 Championship in the last seven years at the 2008 A-10 Tournament at Temple.
Sophomore Dani Pycroft scored the Spiders' only goal on Sunday. It was Pycroft's fourth goal in the last three games and her sixth goal of the season.
Junior Megan Thompson had an assist on Pycroft's goal, giving her 54-career points, which moves her into sole possession of the 10th spot on Richmond's all-time list.
"We played a tough Ohio team that had a bit more fight and grit than the Spiders today." Richmond head coach Gina Lucido said. "We return for a short week of practice in preparation for a hungry, fierce Temple team."
