
Spiders Fall To Old Dominion, 4-3

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond women's tennis team fell to Old Dominion in a 4-3 decision. The Spiders won two-of-three doubles matches and two-of-six matches in singles action for their three total points against ODU. Both Ashlee Vosters and Kelly Tidwell earned wins in singles play on the day.
"We are competing a very high level and ODU challenged us even more today," head coach Mark Wesselink commented. "We played most of the matches were very close, but were unable to pull out the win."
In doubles play, Ashlee Vosters to fill the number one position earning a win over Haarhoff/Fahoum of ODU, 8-4. In the number three position, Jelena Zivanovic took down Costa/Kubichova, 8-6.
"Kelly and Jelena played one of their best matches of the season today," Wesselink added. "Their play really helped us earn the doubles point."
Ashlee Vosters made a come back after being down 6-4 after the first set against ODU's Dobrowlska to earn wins in the next two sets, 6-4, 7-5 to take the match. Tidwell also earned a win in singles action in the number four position for the Spiders against ODU's Costa.
