UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond women's lacrosse team will conclude its regular season schedule at home this Sunday, April 20 at 12 p.m. ET against Saint Joseph's. The Spiders have already secured a spot in the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championships held at Massachusetts in Amherst April 25-27. Richmond garnered the first seed in the tournament in 2006 and 2007.

Earlier this week the Spiders suffered a heartbreaking loss at George Washington. The game was tied at 10 before the Colonials hit the net with less than 20 seconds on the clock to earn the 11-10 victory. Richmond is now 5-1 in the A-10 conference, with St. Joe's left on the schedule.
Allison Furstenburg led the Spiders against GW with six goals and an assist for a total of seven points. The junior native of Whitehouse Station, N.J. currently leads the Spiders in 2008 with 51 goals and 26 assists for a total of 77 points.
Classmate, Mandy Friend, also has 77 points on the seasons consisting of 45 goals and 32 assists, surpassing Richmond's single-season assist record held by Polly Purcell with 30. Friend has also tied the record for single-season points she set in 2007 at 77.
Richmond has never lost to Saint Joseph's in the six times the teams have faced each other. Last season the Spiders went into overtime at St. Joe's where Richmond notched two overtime goals to earn the 9-7 victory.
The A-10 semi-final games will be held at McGuirk Stadium Friday, April 25. The no. 1 seed will take on the no. 4 seed in the first game at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the no. 2 and no. 3 match-up at 3:30 p.m. ET. The winners of both games will move on to the championship Sunday, April 27 at 1 p.m. ET.
