Ryan Repeats As Rookie Of The Week

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Freshman Anne Ryan was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the second straight week after the Spiders earned their third and fourth straight conference wins over the weekend. Ryan put in two goals in Richmond's win over St. Bonaventure and added another two at Duquesne just two days later.
In the Spider's win at St. Bonaventure, Ryan went two for four. Both of the freshman's goals came in the second half to help propel Richmond over the Bonnies 10-9. Her first notch of the day was unassisted then she finished on a free-position shot for her second goal of the game with just four minutes remaining in play.
At Duquesne, Ryan went a perfect two for two. After trailing by six at halftime, Ryan sparked an eight goal Richmond run just thirty seconds into the second half. The Spiders ended up coming from behind, losing by as many as seven in the first, to beat the Dukes in a 15-13 decision.
The Spiders will take a break from A-10 play as they host American Wednesday, April 9 at First Market Stadium for a 3 p.m. ET game. Richmond will then return to its conference schedule to host A-10 rival, Temple, Sunday, April 13 at 1 p.m. ET.
