Field Hockey Hosts No. 7 James Madison Friday

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond field hockey team will host No. 7 ranked James Madison on Friday at Crenshaw Field at 3:30 p.m.
James Madison is 4-1, coming off a pair of 1-0 shutouts over then No. 8 ranked Virginia and Kent State last week. The Dukes have three shutouts in five games and are led in scoring by senior Lauren Walls with four goals and one assist.
Richmond enters the game with a 1-4 record, but two of those losses have come to ranked opponents. The Spiders lost to then No. 16 ranked Princeton 2-1 in the home opener on Sept. 5 and are coming off a 3-1 loss to No. 20 ranked Old Dominion on Saturday in Norfolk.
Freshman Katelin Peterson leads the Spiders with four goals and eight points. Senior Alex Malatesta also has eight points, coming on three goals and two assists. Junior Megan Thompson has two goals and one assist.
The Spiders have 12 goals through five games, with eight of them coming in the season-opening win over Ball State.
