RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond field hockey team heads across town to face city-rival VCU on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Cary Street Field.
Richmond has won four of the last five games to improve to 8-7 on the season and sit atop the Atlantic 10 with a 3-0 mark.
The Spiders have out-scored their three Atlantic 10 opponents 18-0 as they look for a sixth Atlantic 10 regular season title in the last eight years. Tuesday night's match with VCU is Richmond's final non-conference game of the season. All seven of Richmond's losses this season have come to teams either ranked or receiving votes in the NFHCA Top-20 Poll.
VCU enters Tuesday night's game with an 8-6 record after a 3-1 non-conference win over Appalachian State on Friday night.
Richmond won last year's meeting between the two teams 3-2 in overtime at Crenshaw Field.
