UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Senior Megan Thompson assisted on both goals as the Richmond field hockey team defeated Georgetown 2-0 on Sunday at Crenshaw Field.
Thompson's two assists brought her into a tie for eighth on Richmond's all-time career list with 67 points.
The Spiders out-shot Georgetown 25-3, but Richmond was only able to score two goals on the afternoon.
Sophomore Katelin Peterson scored her seventh goal of the season 17:47 into the game on an assist from Thompson and just after halftime in the 38th minute, senior Sarah Blythe-Wood scored her Atlantic 10-leading ninth goal of the season to put the Spiders up 2-0.
Richmond goalkeeper Jacki Raithel posted her third shutout of the season, making three saves in net.
The Spiders (5-6) will open conference play on Friday against Saint Louis at 3:30 p.m.
