The Team:
Richmond's last neutral overtime game was a 116-111 loss to East Carolina in the CAA Tournament March 5, 1999. Tonight's game marked the first double overtime game at a neutral site for the Spiders. Richmond moved to 1-3 all-time in double overtime games, with its last double overtime win coming at Saint Joseph's in 2007.
Richmond moved to 2-2 in tournament games and 1-1 against Chattanooga.
The Spiders were held without a field goal for the first eight minutes of the first half--a season low. Richmond also shot a season-low 6-for-34 (17%) from the field in the first frame.
Richmond allowed a season-high 64 rebounds and were outrebounded by a season-high 24 boards.
Richmond made a season-best 10 three-pointers.
The Players:
Brittani Shells tied a season-high with 21 points. Shells recorded a season-best three 3-pointers.
Nikita Thomas swatted a career best three blocks as Richmond recorded a season-high seven blocks.
Kara Powell scored 14 points, one shy of her career high she recorded at William & Mary.
