Furstenburg Named Atlantic 10 Player Of The Week

Senior Allison Furstenburg was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for the second time this season. Furstenburg led the Spiders to a 3-0 week with 11 goals and five assists. Furstenburg was also selected to the Women's Lacrosse.Com Honor Roll.
"Alli had a tremendous week," said assistant coach Allison Nuzzi."She is very dynamic on attack. She is one of the most consistent players on the team, always able to raise the level of play for the entire team. As a captain of this team, she has really stepped up her play in the Atlantic 10 and as a captain I know her senior leadership will be relied on heavily in this weekend's tournament play."
Richmond opened last week with a 16-12 win over American. Furstenburg scored a game-high five goals and dished a team-high three assists. Furstenburg followed the American game with a two-goal performance in a 14-5 victory at La Salle. Furstenburg concluded last week's play with a team-high four goals in a 12-5 rout over Saint Joseph's on senior day.
Furstenburg currently leads the Spiders in goals (49) assists (25) and points (74). She has scored in every game this season, tallying multiple goals in 13 games, including 11 hat tricks.
Richmond enters the Atlantic 10 Tournament on a four-game win streak. The Spiders will face Saint Joseph's on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Temple University.
