Women's Basketball Hosts Rival GW In Home-And-Home Series Tuesday At 7:00 P.M.

The women's basketball team (13-4, 2-0) hosts George Washington (3-12, 0-3) Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. in the Robins Center. Richmond looks to extend its Atlantic 10-leading five-game win streak.

Junior Danielle Bell added 10.
Shells recorded her fourth straight game-high performance, and moved her mark to 10 game-best performances this season.
Richmond was practically flawless from the field in the first frame, shooting a scorching 20-for-29 (69%) from the field, while connecting on 7-of-10 threes for a season-best 48 first-half points. Richmond dished 16 assists on 20 baskets. Sophomore Joyous Tharrington scored a career-best 13 points in 15 minutes.
The win improved the Spiders to 13-4 overall, and 2-0 in the Atlantic 10. Richmond moved to 5-1 in road games, and 9-2 against the Minutewomen.
Shells continues to lead the Spiders and the A-10 at 18.4 ppg and 3.0 steals per game. Shells is averaging 22.5 ppg and shooting 60 percent from the field in conference action.
Richmond is currently in the midst of playing three of its next four games on the road. The Spiders travel to Dayton Saturday and face defending A-10 Champs Charlotte in what will be an A-10 Tournament rematch next Tuesday night at 9:00 p.m. The Charlotte game is the first of three televised games for the Spiders. The Series:
Although the Colonials own a 19-7 advantage, the Spiders have won the past meetings. Richmond swept rival GW for the first time in series history last season. Additionally, head coach Michael Shafer recorded his first win over the Colonials last January.
The Spiders recorded the first win of the home-and-home series last January when Danielle Bell nailed a jumper with two seconds left. The victory marked Richmond's first over George Washington in the Robins Center since Nov. 23, 1982.
