Richmond Takes Fourth At Swimming World Conference Carnival

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Senior Katie Seiben grabbed a second-place finish in the 100 fly and was fourth in the 50 free to help the Richmond women's swimming team to a fourth-place finish at the Swimming World Magazine Conference Carnival Saturday at Rutgers.
Sieben clocked in at 55.99 in winning the silver in the 100 fly, while she checked in with a 24.38 in taking fourth in the 50 free.
"We were an improved team today," said head coach Matt Barany. "This is a super experience for the swimming community, and we were fortunate to be here. We were infected by tonight's energy."
The Conference Carnival was won by Minnesota with 308 points, followed by Rutgers (209), UMBC (171) and Richmond (118).
Alexi Kuska also had a strong meet for Richmond and turned in a third-place finish in the 1,650 free with a time of 17:29.73.
Mary Anne Lerro was fifth in the 100 breast (1:07.92).
Richmond returns to action next Saturday with its final regular-season meet of the season at James Madison.
