Wager, Edelman Honored On CAA 25th Anniversary Swimming & Diving Teams

RICHMOND, Va. - Former Richmond swimmers Sue Wager and George Edelman were selected to the Colonial Athletic Association 25th Anniversary Swimming & Diving Teams, which were chosen to celebrate the league's Silver Anniversary in 2009-10.
Wager, who swam for Richmond from 1986-87 was the CAA Swimmer of the Year in 1986. The Norwalk, Conn. native was the two-time CAA Champion in the 100 free, and also captured league titles in the 50, 200 and 500 free events.
The Silver Anniversary women's swimming & diving team includes 14 former CAA Swimmers of the Year and three CAA Divers of the Year.
Edelman was a Spider swimmer from 1987-89 and was selected as the CAA Athlete of the Year as a senior. The Wyomissing, Pa. native won three-consecutive CAA titles in the 500 free (1987-89) and was also a two-time league champion in the 200 free and 1,650 free.
The Silver Anniversary men's swimming & diving team includes seven All-Americans, 13 former CAA Swimmers of the Year and a pair of CAA Divers of the Year.
Both the men's and women's teams were selected by a panel of current and former head coaches in the conference.
