Team Notes
Richmond had its road winning streak versus FCS opponents snapped at 11 games. The last road loss to an FCS opponent was at Villanova, 26-20, on Sept. 27, 2008. Richmond is 18-4 in its last 22 FCS road games.
The victory by UNH extended the Wildcats' home-winning streak to 12 games. They are 7-3 versus Richmond all-time at home and have won three-straight. Richmond leads the all-time series 10-9.
Richmond was shutout by an FCS foe for the first time since Sept. 10, 2005 at Lafayette (7-0). It also marked the Spiders first shutout in league play since Nov. 15, 2003 (45-0 at No. 23 Northeastern). Richmond's last shutout (all opponents) was 16-0 at Virginia on Sept. 6, 2008.
Richmond turned the ball over seven times, marking Richmond's highest turnover total since before the 2004 season.
The Spiders had a running back surpass the 100-yard mark for the third-consecutive game for the first time since the 2008 season when then-senior Josh Vaughan did it five-straight times late in the year.
Richmond's last 0-2 start to league play was 2003 when the Spiders opened with losses at Delaware (44-14) and to Rhode Island (17-13).
Richmond allowed New Hampshire just two punt returns for a total of four yards. The Spiders entered the game as the nation's second-best punt coverage unit by allowing just 0.8 yards/game.
Player Notes
Senior Tyler Kirchoff carried 17 times for 108 yards and has surpassed the 100-yard mark in two-straight games. Kirchoff had 126 yards on 24 carries and four TDs versus Coastal Carolina last weekend.
Senior DL Martin Parker, an All-America selection and a nominee for the Buck Buchanan Award, tied the game-high with 12 tackles. He's had 31 in Richmond's last three games.
Senior LB Eric McBride finished with eight tackles. With 383 in his career, he needs just seven more to move to sixth-place on Richmond's all-time tackles list.
Senior CB Justin Rogers -- the defending CAA and National Defensive Player of the Week -- collected three tackles, forced a fumble and broke up a pass. The senior also amassed 91 all-purpose yards (53 punt return, 40 KO return, -2 rushing).
