The Team:
Richmond moves to 2-0 in the series with the Catamounts, with both of those wins coming in season-openers. (2009-2010, 2010-2011)
Head Coach Michael Shafer moves to 5-1 in season openers.
The Spiders move to 61-32 all time in season openers.
The teams went to the charity stripe a combined 56 times Friday night, with Richmond going 19 for 26 at the line.
Richmond's bench had 17 points and converted 26 points off Catamount turnovers.
The Players:
Brittani Shells notched the second 30 point game of her career Friday night, with a career-best 34 point performance.
Shells had previously set her career high with 32 points against Morgan State Dec. 2009.
Shells also tied a career high with 10-11 free throws Friday night.
Nine Spiders recorded points as Goring followed Shells with 11.
Genevieve Okoro made her Spider debut with a game high 12 rebound, 5-point performance.
Sam Bilney made her first start since Feb. 09, and had seven rebounds, five points.
