Women's Lacrosse Looks To Extend Its Win Streak At Duquesne Today

The Richmond women's lacrosse team (7-8, 4-1) looks to extend its three-game conference win streak at Duquesne today at 4 p.m.
The Spiders are coming off a 15-7 victory over Saint Joseph's--their third conference win in a row. Richmond is outscoring opponents by 8.3 goals a game in this span.
Senior goalkeeper Erica Marrocco was named the A-10 Defensive Player of the Week after recording 20 saves over the weekend. Marrocco collected 16 saves in the net against Saint Joseph's, including saving key free position attempts by the Hawks. Marrocco ranks first in the A-10 and sixth in the nation with 143 saves on the season. Marrocco ranks 17th in the country with around 10 saves a game.
Mary Flowers continues to be a force for the Spiders, ranking first in the conference and 13th in the country in ground balls (47). Flowers ranks 20th in the country and first in the country in caused turnovers (2.0 per game).
The Spiders rank first in the conference with over nine caused turnovers a game. Flowers also tops the draw control at 3.27 a game. Flowers leads the Spiders in virtually every statistical category: goals (38), points (47), ground balls (47), draw controls (49) and caused turnovers (29).
Richmond leads the Duquesne series, 7-2 and recorded a thrilling 14-13 win in overtime last March on Senior Day. Richmond currently sits atop first place with UMass at 4-1 in league action. The Dukes are 2-3 in A-10 play but served UMass its only loss. The Dukes are paced by reigning Player of the Week Meghan Frederick.
After Friday's contest, the Spiders stay on the road as they travel to St. Bonaventure for a noon game on Sunday.
