Women's Tennis Downs Saint Louis, 4-1; Advances To Semifinals

SAINT LOUS, Mo. -
The Richmond women's tennis team defeated No. 7 Saint Louis, 4-1, in the quarterfinals of the A-10 Tournament late Friday night. The Spiders make their eighth-straight semifinal appearance Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against third-seeded Temple.
The Spiders swept the doubles point as Erin Clark/Helen Cunningham won handily, 8-3, while the No. 3 pair, Sydney Grant and Joanna Matuszczyk won 8-2 over their Biliken counterparts.
Richmond got straight set wins from Grant and Matuszczyk to secure the win. No. 2 Kelly Tidwell also earned a hard-fought victory over her Casey Miller, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2.
The Spiders defeated the Owls, 5-2 earlier this season.
