SAINT LOUS, Mo. -
Defending champion Richmond defeated Temple 4-1 in the A-10 semifinal round to return to its second conference championship game. The second-seeded Spiders square off against No. 5 GW at 8:00 a.m. Sunday.
The Spiders had no problem turning away Temple as they first swept the doubles point as Erin Clark/Helen Cunningham and Sydney Grant/Joanna Matuszczyk each notched wins.
The singles point was no different, as Richmond's No. 1 through No. 3 singles recorded straight set wins.
Richmond moved to 2-0 against Temple this year, after already recording a 5-2 victory earlier in the season.
Richmond seeks its sixth A-10 crown in the last seven years, but will have work to do Sunday as GW served the Spiders their only conference loss, 4-3 in February.
No. 2 Richmond 4, No. 3 Temple 1
