Spiders Host La Salle For Senior Day Friday At 3:30 P.M.

The Richmond women's lacrosse team (5-8, 2-1) hosts La Salle (7-4, 3-0) in a key A-10 contest Friday at 3:30 p.m. at UR Stadium. Seniors Alexis Brennan and Erica Marrocco will be honored before the start of the game.
Richmond lately: The Spiders are coming off a 1-1 weekend. Richmond throttled GW 17-6 and were edged by No. 20 William & Mary 11-10. In GW's win, freshman Gabi Wiegand scored a career-best six goals. The six goals were the most scored by a Spider since Mar. 10, 2009. The Spiders recorded 10 assists, which is just two shy of tying a school record. Julianne Nicola led the charge with three assists.
In the 11-10 loss to William & Mary, six different Spiders scored with Kara Moschetti, Anne Ryan, Mary Flowers and Wiegand notching two goals apiece. Marrocco posted a strong performance in goal with 10 saves.
La Salle lately: The Explorers are off to their best start in school history, and are currently in first place in the A-10 with a 3-0 record. La Salle has posted conference wins over St. Bonaventure, Duquesne and Saint Joseph's.
The Series: Richmond has never lost to La Salle, owning an 8-0 advantage in the series. The Spiders dominated the Explorers 14-5 in last year's meeting. An astounding 11 Spiders scored in the rout. Nine Spider assists were also recorded.
Senior Day Dominance: The Spiders are 9-0 on Senior Day since joining the A-10.
By the Numbers: Flowers is leading Richmond in goals (32), shots (62), points (38), ground balls (37) draw controls (41) and caused turnovers (24).

Ground balls: 2.85 a game (Second in A-10, 27th in the nation)
Draw controls: 3.15 a game (Second in A-10, 23rd in the nation)
Caused turnovers: 1.85 a game (Third in A-10, 21st in nation)
Marrocco is first in the conference and seventh in the nation with 123 saves on the season. Marrocco collects a little over nine saves a game, good for first in the A-10 and 20th in the country. Marrocco recorded a career-best 22 saves against Duke.
