Sophomore Gabi Wiegand earned All Rookie accolades.
Flowers helped guide the Spiders to a 10-9 record, a 6-1 mark in conference play and an appearance in the A-10 Championship finals. The Virginia Beach, Va. native tallied a team-leading 55 goals on the season, which was good for third on Richmond's single-season list.
Flowers also led the Spiders in points (65), ground balls (68), draw controls (59) and caused turnovers (39). Flowers ended the season ranked second in the nation in ground balls (3.75 a game) and sixth in the country in caused turnovers (2.15 a game). Flowers ended her season with 15 multi-goal games, 13 of which were hat trick performances or better.
Flowers tallied a career-best six goals against St. Bonaventure in April. Flowers was tabbed the A-10 Midfielder of the Year and garnered All Conference first team honors. Flowers also earned All Tournament recognition.
Wiegand followed Flowers with a breakout rookie season of her own. Wiegand recorded 49 goals and 13 assists for 62 points. Wiegand also registered 17 ground balls, 12 draw controls and 16 caused turnovers. The Bay Shore, N.Y. native ended her freshman campaign with 13 multi-goal games, with the last four being hat-trick performances or better.
Wiegand garnered All Conference second team and All Rookie team honors. Wiegand recorded a career-high six goals against GW earlier in the season. Wiegand also earned All Tournament recognition.
Richmond ended its 2010 season having earned its fourth regular season title and appeared in its fifth A-10 Championship game.
