STOCKHOLM, Sweden -
The Richmond women's basketball team arrived safely in Stockholm early Wednesday morning and kicked off its foreign trip with visits to the Royal Palace and Vassa Museum. Richmond opens action tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. ET.
Sweden's Royal Palace kicked off the Spiders' sightseeing in Stockholm, with Richmond touring the Royal Apartments, the Royal Chapel and watching the changing of the Royal Guard.
The Spiders then visited the Vassa museum, where a massive Viking vessel was salvaged after 330 years under the sea. Richmond also toured the Swedish Observatory and various gardens and parks in the area.
Richmond squares off against Uppsala Basket in tomorrow's foreign opener at 12:00 p.m. ET. A few game differentials to note about tomorrow's game:
Four 10-minute quarters instead of two 20-minute halves.
No one-and-one shooting fouls.
After five fouls, a team goes into the double bonus.
The Spiders will need to readjust to a 24-second shot-clock and 8-second backcourt.
