HARRISONBURG, Va. - Richmond trailed just 1-0 at the half, but yielded four second-half goals in a 5-0 loss to James Madison on Friday night.
The Spiders (3-4) took 16 shots, but could not get one past James Madison goalkeeper Margo Savage.
Amy Daniel scored two goals to lead four different Dukes who scored.
Rachel Wein put James Madison on the board 16:32 into the game, tipping in a loose ball in front of the net.
Five minutes into the second half, Daniel made it 2-0 on a penalty corner and exactly 10 minutes later Auburn Weisensale made it 3-0 on a deflection of a pass by Daniel.
With 6:11 to play Ashley Adams knocked in a rebound for a 4-0 lead and with 18 seconds left Daniel scored her second goal of the game on a shot from the top of the circle.
Ann Jefferis made seven saves for the Spiders, who host Ohio on Sunday at noon in a rematch of last year's NCAA Play-In Game won by the Spiders 2-1.
