Traynor Named A-10 Cross Country Women's Performer Of The Week

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND - The A-10 Conference announced senior Nicol Traynor the Women's Performer of the Week following her second-place finish at the Wolfpack Invitational on Sept. 17.
Traynor's time of 17:30.3 now holds the third all-time course record at the WakeMed Park Cross Country Course in Cary, N.C.
In her freshman year at Richmond, the Basking Ridge, N.J. native was named the Spiders' Most Outstanding Rookie Performer following her 11th-place finish at the A-10 Championship. Her sophomore year lists numerous accomplishments: All-Atlantic 10 Athlete, Academic All-Atlantic 10 Athlete, USTFCCCA Scholar Athlete, third-place at the A-10 Championship and she earned All-Conference honors. She closed out her sophomore year with a 14th-place finished at the NCAA Southeast Regional with a time of 21:29.1. Last year, Traynor participated in the championship portion of the Spiders' schedule, clinching seventh-place at the 2009 A-10 Championship and finishing 26th at the NCAA Southeast Regional. Due to the success of Traynor and the rest of women's team this past weekend, Richmond moved up to sixth-place in the Women's NCAA Southeast Region Rankings. NC State still holds the number four spot after their loss to the Spiders at home.
