UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
The Richmond women's lacrosse team recently took part in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk to Cure. The walk raised awareness to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.
The lacrosse team worked the Spider zone located in the Kid's Area of the walk. The team mingled and played with the kids walking the event. Some Spiders showed the kids how to play lacrosse.
"Our time at the JDRF Walk for Diabetes this weekend was well
spent," said senior Bria Eulitt. "We had a great time teaching some of the younger children how to play lacrosse and we definitely had some kids who would come back to
our station two or three times! It was a great experience to get out
into the community, spend some time with kids and teach them to play
the sport that we love."
Richmond opens its 2011 season hosting defending national champion Maryland Feb. 13 at Robins Stadium.
