
Field Hockey Hosts VCU Wednesday At 4:30 P.M.

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - After four-straight games away from home to start the season, the defending Atlantic 10 Champion Spiders return to Crenshaw Field to host city-rival VCU on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
Wednesday's game can be seen live on the internet on SpiderTV at RichmondSpiders.com.
Richmond (3-1) is receiving votes in the latest FHCA Top-20 Poll and has won three-straight games after sweeping Rutgers and Monmouth in New Jersey over the weekend.
Junior Katelin Peterson was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and freshman Chelsea Davies was picked as the conference's Rookie of the Week. Peterson scored three goals and had two assists in the weekend's two wins and Davies had one goal and two assists.
Peterson is tied for 10th on Richmond's all-time career list for points with 67 and needs one goal to tie for 10th on the career list for goals, currently sitting at 28 for her career.
After opening the season with losses to Albany and Boston University, VCU (2-2) defeated Northwestern 4-1 and Saint Joseph's 2-0.
Richmond won last year's meeting between the two schools 3-2 in double-overtime behind two goals from Megan Thompson and one from current senior Hannah Hess.
The Spiders host Princeton on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
