The Players:
• Shells' game-high 22 tallies was the 31st 20 pt game of her career, second in a row, 91st double figure contest and 12th of the season.
• Shells is just eight tallies shy of sole possession of third place on Richmond's all-time scoring list.
• Crystal Goring's 12 point, nine board performance was one rebound shy of her second double-double of the season. Goring is averaging 8.7 and 9.8 ppg.
• Abby Oliver scored in double figures for the 31st time in her career, eighth of the season with 15 tallies.
The Team:
• The loss snapped Richmond's five-game win streak, its longest since Dec. 30, 2009- Jan. 19, 2010.
• The loss snapped Richmond's spotless mark over Commonwealth opponents (previously 5-0) and undefeated mark over ACC foes the past two seasons (4-0).
• Richmond fell to 3-12 in the series with the Cavaliers and have dropped two straight in the series.
• Head coach Michael Shafer moved to 1-2 against UVA.
