
Richmond Downs Rutgers In Cancun Challenge

CANCUN, Mexico - Junior Greg Robbins scored a career-high 15 points as Richmond defeated Rutgers 58-53 ti improve to 9-7 all-time against the Big East Conference.
Robbins made 5-of-6 field goals and 3-of-4 three-pointers, had four steals and three rebounds as he led the Spiders to their 10th victory in the last 15 games against a BCS Conference opponent.
Spider head coach Chris Mooney improved to 6-3 all-time against Big East teams, including 5-3 at Richmond. Mooney now has 15 victories over BCS Conference opponents in his seven seasons as a head coach. Richmond improved to 9-7 all-time against the Big East.
Junior Darien Brothers scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds, while sophomore Cedrick Lindsay had nine points, four rebounds and three assists.
Senior Francis-Cedric Martel and sophomore Derrick Williams each had seven points.
The Spiders have still not lost back-to-back games in the regular season since December of 2009.Richmond has a week off before playing at William & Mary next Wedneday.
