
A-10 Champions Put Three On First-Team All-Conference

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Senior Katelin Peterson, sophomore Chelsea Davies and freshman Rebecca Barry were named First-Team All-Atlantic with Barry taking home the Spiders' second-straight A-10 Rookie of the Year Award.
Senior back Emily Straniero and sophomore goalkeeper Anna Zarkoski were named Second-Team All-Atlantic 10 after leading a defense that posted seven shouts in the last 11 games and ranked fourth in the nation in goals against average (0.91). Samantha Ostoich joined Barry on the conference's All-Rookie team and sophomore Christina Amorose was named Honorable Mention All-Conference.
Peterson, who is fourth at Richmond in career points (121), goals (47) and assists (27), is making her fourth appearance on the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team, including her third time on the First Team.
Peterson was also named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team after leading the Spiders in goals (16), assists (11) and points (43) this season.
Davies was tied for second on the team with 10 goals and had seven assists for 27 points. She scored three game-winning goals and has 14 career goals and 12 assists for 40 career points through two seasons.
Barry joins Peterson (2009) and Davies (2010) as three of the five Spiders to earn A-10 Rookie of the Year in 11 seasons in the conference. Barry tied for second on the team with 10 goals and had three assists for 23 points.
Zarkoski led the nation with a .815 save percentage and her 1.00 goals against average ranked fourth in the nation. She had 101 saves and seven shutouts.
Richmond (16-7, 5-1 Atlantic 10) won the Atlantic 10 Regular Season and Tournament Championships for the seventh time in the last 10 years.
