
Spiders Have Four First-Team All-State Selections

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The 2011 Atlantic 10 Champion Richmond field hockey team had four players selected VaSID First-Team All-State.
Senior forward Katelin Peterson, sophomore goalkeeper Anna Zarkoski, sophomore midfielder Chelsea Davies and freshman midfielder Rebecca Barry were named to the VaSID All-State First-Team.
Peterson, Davies and Barry were already named First Team All-Atlantic Conference and Zarkoski was a Second-Team All-Conference selection.Peterson is making her third appearance on VaSID's All-State team. The Escondido, Calif. native finished fourth at Richmond in career points (121), goals (47) and assists (27). She led the Spiders this season in goals (16), assists (11) and points (43).
Davies was tied for second on the Spiders this season with 10 goals and 7 assists. The past two years she has scored 14 goals, three that have been game-winning goals, 12 assists for 40 career points.
Barry became the fifth Spiders to earn A-10 Rookie of the year in the last 11 seasons. She tied Davies for second on the team with 10 goals. Barry also had three assists for 23 points this season.
Zarkoski posted seven shutouts in the last 11 games and had 101 saves this season. She led the nation this season .815 save percentage and was fourth in the nation with 1.00 goals against average.
For the seventh time in 10 years Richmond won the A-10 regular season and the A-10 tournament ending the season with a 16-7 record.
