
Zarkoski Named All-American, 3 Spiders Earn All-Region

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Sophomore goalkeeper Anna Zarkosk was named a Third-Team All-American by WomensFieldHockey.com and Longstreth/NFHCA First-Team All-South Region pick, while senior Katelin Peterson and sophomore Chelsea Davies earned Second-Team All-South Region.
"I'm very proud that Anna, Katelin, Chelsea, and Becca represented this outstanding Richmond squad regionally," Richmond head coach Gina Lucido said.
Zarkoski led the nation with a .815 save percentage and her 1.00 goals against average ranked fourth in the nation. She had 101 saves and seven shutouts. The Spiders' finished fourth in the nation in goals against average at 0.96.
"Anna Zarkoski's season performance was consistently above the bar," Lucido said. "I believe she made her mark as one of the top goalies in the country."
Peterson finished her career fourth at Richmond in career points (121), goals (47) and assists (27). The four-time All-Atlantic 10 selection was also named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team after leading the Spiders in goals (16), assists (11) and points (43) this season.
"Katelin Peterson led this program to a new level of performance and success during my time as head coach," Lucido said. "Her athleticism, passion and integrity is unmatched."
Davies was tied for second on the team with 10 goals and had seven assists for 27 points. She scored three game-winning goals and has 14 career goals and 12 assists for 40 career points through two seasons.
"Chelsea Davies will continue to make her talent known among our opponents," Lucido said. "It is always rewarding to see individuals lifted up when the root of their focus is to honor the team above themselves."
Richmond (16-7, 5-1 Atlantic 10) won the Atlantic 10 Regular Season and Tournament Championships for the seventh time in the last 10 years.
