PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - No. 23 Temple shot 51.7 percent from the field in the first half and 60 percent in the second half of a 73-53 win over Richmond Thursday night.
The Spiders lost to a ranked team for just the second time in the last seven games, but both have come to Temple. The No. 17 ranked Owls defeated Richmond 56-52 in the Atlantic 10 title game last March. Richmond did defeat No. 17 ranked Temple by 17 last February in the Robins Center.
The Owls (20-6, 10-2 Atlantic 10) moved into sole possession of second place in the league by snapping the Spiders' eight-game road winning streak.
Ramone Moore made 10-of-15 field goals, including 4-of-5 three-pointers on his way to a game-high 24 points. Juan Fernandez made 9-of-10 field goals, including 2-of-3 three-pointers for 20 points.

Kevin Anderson led Richmond with 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including 3-of-5 three-pointers. Justin Harper had 14 points and Dan Geriot had 11.
The Spiders return home to host St. Bonaventure on Sunday at 3 p.m. Senior Day will be celebrated on Sunday as the Richmond students will be on Spring Break for the last home against Duquesne.
