Second-Seeded Spiders To Face Temple Friday In A-10 Tournament

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
Second-seeded Richmond (9-8, 6-1) will square off against No. 3 Temple (7-8, 5-2) Friday at 1:00 p.m. on Geasey Field on the University of Temple's campus in the 2011 Atlantic 10 Tournament semifinal game.
The Spiders took this year's meeting, 13-9, April 10 in Philadelphia, Pa. Julianne Nicola, Caitlin Fifield and Hayley Ross all had three goals apiece. Nicola also added three assists. Richmond dominated the first half 10-3 and weathered a second-half Temple push to secure the victory.
Richmond is 8-5 all-time in tournament play, and 3-0 against the Owls in the semifinal game. Richmond enters the A-10 Tournament with three titles (2005, 2006, 2007).
The four-team field that will be competing in Philadelphia this weekend includes #1 seeded Massachusetts (14-2, 7-0 A-10), #2 seeded Richmond (9-8, 6-1), #3 seeded Temple (7-9, 5-2) and #4 seeded Duquesne (11-6, 4-3). UMass and Duquesne will face each other at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
The championship finals will be played on Sunday, May 1 at 1:00 p.m. and will be televised live on the CBS Sports Network.
