
Flowers, Blazer Earn All-American Women's Lacrosse Honors

Two-time Midfielder of the Year Mary Flowers was named to the Synapsesports.com All-American third team while freshman Taylor Blazer was tabbed to the Rookie team.
Synapses Sports (formerly womenslacrosse.com) recently released its 2011 postseason awards, which was comprised of Division I, II, III first, second and third team All-Americans, and an All Rookie squad.
Flowers, no stranger to accolades, was tabbed a third-team All-American for the second-straight year as well was a two-time recipient for the A-10 Midfielder of the Year.
Flowers led the nation and league in ground balls per game (4.14) and also was tops in the A-10 in points (65) and draw controls (3.79). The two-time Player of the Week also ranks third in the conference in goals per game (2.64) and assists per game (1.64).
Flowers and Blazer were also named to the A-10 first team. The Berlin, Md. native started every game for the Spiders this season and is tops on the team in caused turnovers (35) and 11th in the nation in caused turnovers (1.88) per game. Blazer is also second in ground balls (49) and third in draw controls (35).
