
Spiders Cut Down Lancers

Sophomore Christina Amorose scored two goals as Richmond defeated Longwood 3-1 Sunday.
Richmond keeper Anna Zarkoski made six saves in goal as the Spiders improved to 4-3 on the season and won for the third time in the last four games.
Amorose scored 9:48 into the match on an unassisted goal and struck again four minutes later when she took a pass from junior Natalie Gallo and found the back of the cage.
Longwood's Stacey de Grandhomme scored just before halftime to cut the lead to 2-1, but Richmond junior Jackie Gyer scored on an assist from sophomore Chelsea Davies in the 50th minue.
The Spiders will make their debut on the new turf at Crenshaw Field on Friday at 4 p.m.
