The Richmond field hockey debuts on its new turf at Crenshaw Field Friday for the 2011 home opener against American at 4 p.m.
The Spiders are 4-3 after opening the season with seven-straight games away from campus. Two of Richmond's three losses this season have come in penalty strokes.
Senior Katelin Peterson leads the Spiders with eight points on three goals and two assists, while sophomore Christina Amorose has seven points on three goals and one assist.
