Spiders' Hot-Start Burns Billikens, 65-43

SAINT LOUIS, MO-- Richmond scored the game's first 13 points and never looked back en route to a 63-45 victory at Saint Louis Saturday night.
The Spiders sprinted out to a 13-0 start and the Billikens could not seem to recover. Amber Battle, making her first collegiate start, poured in a career-high 10 points off 4-of-7 from the field and grabbed six boards.
Richmond held Saint Louis to only 17 points in the first frame, its lowest first-half point total this season. Also, the 36-17 Billikens' deficit was their largest this season.
The Spiders led by as many as 23 at the 11:16 mark with a 51-28 lead.
The Spiders won the board total, 37-29 and dished 16 assists to the Billikens' three. Richmond shot 50 percent from the field (27-of-54) while holding Saint Louis to a 27 percent (14-of-52) from clip.
Three more Spiders joined Battle in double figures with Abby Oliver leading the pack at 15 points. Becca Wann poured in 12 points and had nine rebounds while Liz Brown added 10 tallies.
Richmond won its fourth-straight over Saint Louis while improving to 16-5 and 4-3 overall.
The Spiders return to the Robins Center to host Rhode Island for Dream Big Day, Tuesday, Jan. 31 at noon.
