ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - Senior Darrius Garrett became the Spiders' all-time single-season blocks leader in Richmond's 62-47 loss to St. Bonaventure on Saturday at the Bonnie's Reilly Center.
Garrett, who has now recorded 79 blocks on the season, finished the night with a pair of swats to surpass the previous program record of 77 that he tied in Wednesday's win over Fordham. He would also haul in a game-high nine rebounds.
Freshman Kendall Anthony had a career night on Saturday, shooting 7-for-12 from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 at the line to lead all players and equal a season-high with 21 points off the bench.
Richmond (12-10, 3-4 A-10) was held to a season-low 13-for-49 (26.5%) shooting from the floor and hit 15-of-25 at the stripe. The Spiders committed just eight turnovers while forcing the Bonnies into 12 on their home floor.
St. Bonaventure (12-7, 5-2 A-10) went 22-for-48 (45.8%) on the night but was limited to just 2-of-11 (18.2%) shooting from long range. The Bonnies were led by senior Andrew Nicholson, who finished with 14 points and eight boards.
The Spiders return to the Robins Center on Wednesday at 7 p.m. when they play host to Saint Joseph's.
