Deitrick Named Atlantic 10 Rookie Of Week

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond freshman Taylor Deitrick was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week after scoring a goal in Richmond's 2-1 win over No. 19 ranked William & Mary on Sunday.
Deitrick team-leading seventh goal of the season gave the Spiders a 1-0 lead in the first half. The Harrisburg, Pa. native ranks fourth in the Atlantic 10 in goals.
Deitrick is the second Spider freshman to earn A-10 Rookie of the Week honors this season.
The Spiders have received the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year in each of the past two seasons, with Chelsea Davies taking home the award in 2010 and Rebecca Barry earning the award last season.
The Spiders defeated the 19th-ranked Tribe 2-1 after being edged by No. 8 ranked Old Dominion 2-1 on Friday.
Richmond is 6-4 with all four losses coming to Top-20 teams, including three of the setbacks by just a 2-1 margin.
The defending Atlantic 10 Champion Spiders open conference play on Saturday, hosting nationally ranked Massachusetts at noon.
