Deitrick Named Rookie Of Year; Spiders Earn All A-10

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond Freshman Taylor Deitrick was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year and four Spiders earned First-Team Atlantic 10 All-Conference honors in voting conducted among the conference's coaches.
Spider juniors Chelsea Davies and Anna Zarkoski, sophomore Rebecca Barry and freshman Amy Cooke earned First-Team All-Atlantic 10.
Deitrick gives the Spiders three-straight A-10 Rookies of the Year, joining Barry and Davies. Deitrick also earned Second-Team All-Atlantic 10 and joined Cooke and Kerri McDonald on the All-Rookie Team. Senior Liesl Schnuck was named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team.
Barry, who is making her second appearance on the A-10 First-Team, led the Spiders with 18 goals, nine assists and 45 points, finishing the season 13th in the nation in both points per game and goals per game.
Deitrick was second on the team with 12 goals and 26 points. Davies, who earned All-Atlantic 10 honors for the third time in as many seasons, including her second straight First-Team appearance, was third on the team with seven goals, six assists and 20 points.
Zarkoski earned All-Conference honors for the second-straight season after making 46 saves in 17 games with a 1.39 goals against average.
Richmond's defense held opponents to a 1.43 goals against average, which ranked 12th in the nation and averaged 0.33 shutouts per game, which was fifth in the nation.
The Spiders finished the season 16-5 overall and won their eighth Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championship in the last 11 years. Richmond was nationally ranked for most of the season, peaking at No. 16.
