Barry And Cooke Earn All-South Region Honors

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond sophomore Rebecca Barry earned Longstreth/NFHCA First-Team All-South Region and freshman Amy Cooke was named Second-Team.
Barry led the Spiders in goals (18), assists (9) and points (45), ranking 13th in the nation in both goals per game and points per game. The Limerick, Ireland native scored nine game-winning goals on her way to being named First-Team All-Atlantic 10 for the second time in as many collegiate seasons.
Cooke was a standout on defense in her first season with the Spiders, helping lead a unit that held opponents to a 1.43 goals against average, which ranked 12th in the nation. Richmond's defense also averaged 0.33 shutouts per game, which was fifth in the nation. The Ballyclare, Northern Ireland native scored one goal and had six assists for eight points.
The Spiders finished the season 16-5 overall and won their eighth Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championship in the last 11 years. Richmond was nationally ranked for most of the season, peaking at No. 16.
