WILMINGTON, N.C. -The Spider dive team returns to the boards for the final meet of the semester this weekend at UNC-Wilmington's Seahawk Invitational in Wilmington, N.C. on Dec. 1 and 2.
Sophomore Katherine Cook and Freshman Erica Elias will be representing the Spiders at the meet.
The invitational is in championship format with preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m. each day and finals at 4 p.m.
"I am excited to finish out our fall semester with another chance to compete," said dive coach Erika Matheis. "Both Erica and Katherine are using this meet as an opportunity to compete in a similar style that they will at the A-10 championship."
Cook and Elias will be competing against divers from East Carolina and Wilmington. UNC-Wilmington and Richmond competed against each other at the Patriot Invitational earlier this month.
Cook finished eighth in the 1-meter diving finals with a score of 180.3 and finished 14th in the prelims of the 3-meter. Elias was 11th in the -meter diving prelims.
" I am looking forward to fixing some of the mistakes from our previous invitational meet and seeing the ladies progress in a competition setting," said Matheis
