Barry Named All-American; Deitrick All-Rookie

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond sophomore Rebecca Barry was named to womensfieldhockey.com's All-American Second-Team, becoming the seventh Spider to earn All-American honors.
Richmond freshman Taylor Deitrick was named to womensfieldhockey.com's All-American Rookie Team.
Barry led the Spiders in goals (18), assists (9) and points (45), ranking 13th in the nation in both goals per game and points per game. The Limerick, Ireland native scored nine game-winning goals on her way to being named First-Team All-Atlantic 10 for the second time in as many collegiate seasons.
She was named NFHCA First-Team All-South Region and VaSID First-Team All-State, along with having one of her goals rank No. 5 on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays of the Day.
Barry joins fellow Spider All-Americans Anna Zarkoski (2011), Sarah Blythe-Wood (2009), Allie Howard (2004), Holly Cram (2004), Heather Rice (2000) and Dawn Reyerson (1993).
Deitrick, who was named the 2012 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, was second on the team in goals (12) and points (26).
The Spiders finished the season 16-5 overall and won their eighth Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championship in the last 11 years. Richmond was nationally ranked for most of the season, peaking at No. 16.
