Richmond Places 12th at Pinehurst Challenge

PINEHURST, N.C. - The University of Richmond Spiders women's golf team carded a final round 310 (+22) to end the Pinehurst Challenge in 12th place with a three round total of 914 (+50). N.C. State won the 17-team tournament with a score of 865 (+1).
Junior Caroline Lovette had a terrific showing at Pinehurst, shooting rounds of 72-74-75 to finish in a tie for 14th with a score of 221 (+5). The top-20 was the third of the season for Lovette and her second straight for the Spiders.
Just two strokes behind Lovette was sophomore Danielle Pinder, who tied for 17th with a 54-hole score of 223 (+7). The top-20 for Pinder was her first of the season and the second of her career.
Junior Courtney Rousse tied for 56th at the Pinehurst Challenge with a three-round total of 233 (+17), while sophomore Lauren Conder placed in a tie for 66th with a score of 237 (+21). Rounding out the Spiders effort over the two days was sophomore Viviana Perez who finished 87th with a total of 261 (+45).
Playing as individuals, junior Tracy Martin placed 65th with a score of 236 (+20), while sophomore Krystin Schwarze tied for 83rd, carding a 54-hole total of 256 (+40).
The Richmond Spiders women's golf team will be back on the course on March 26 when the team will host The Spider Spring Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at the Independence Golf Course in Midlothian, Virginia.
