Spiders Host La Salle Friday For Friends of Jaclyn

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond hosts La Salle Friday at 4 p.m. at Robins Stadium. The Spiders will honor Friends of Jaclyn adoptee, Katie Schools before the game.
Richmond Lately: Freshman Emily Doyle was named A-10 Rookie of the Week after recording five points (1g, 5a) in Richmond's 18-17 win over GW last Friday. Sam Stevenson led Richmond with eights points (5g, 3a). Stevenson continues her scoring offensive prowess in conference play, leading Richmond in goals (35) assists (21) and points (56). Mary Flowers ranks third in the country in caused turnovers per game (2.5), while Richmond ranks 17th in ground balls per game (17.67). Senior goalkeeper Victoria Roebuck ranks third in saves per game (11.45) and fourth in total saves (126).
Richmond comes into Friday's contest 6-6 and 2-1 overall. The Spiders have won three of their last four games. Two of Richmond's three A-10 games have been one-point finishes. The Spiders took last year's matchup, 15-4 in Philadelphia.
La Salle Lately: The Explorers most recently dropped at 13-9 decision to Temple Saturday. Lauren McDermott and Caitlyn Brostrand scored three goals apiece. Brostrand leads La Salle with 27 goals, while Michelle Sarcinello leads Explorer point totals with 32 points (26g, 6a). La Salle comes into Friday's game with a 9-3, 2-1 mark. La Salle's nine wins are second-most in the league. Four teams are currently tied in the A-10 standings with a 2-1 mark. (La Salle, Duquesne, Temple and Richmond).
