Flowers and Doyle Honored With A-10 Awards

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Mary Flowers and Emily Doyle were honored with A-10 honors as announced by the league office Monday.
Flowers was named the A-10 Player of the Week after notching 10 goals in a 2-0 week for Richmond. Flowers scored a team-high six goals in the Spiders' 17-15 win over La Salle Friday. Flowers added four goals against Temple Sunday. The Virginia Beach, Va. native dished five assists for the week, recorded 15 points, snagged 11 ground balls and secured seven draw controls.
Doyle was awarded A-10 Rookie of the Week for the second time in as many weeks. Doyle dished a school-record seven assists in Richmond's 20-16 win over Temple yesterday. Doyle also scored three goals and recorded 13 points in an undefeated week for Richmond.
The Spiders have won four in a row, and sit 8-6, 4-1 on the year. Richmond concludes its regular season at St. Bonaventure and Duquesne this weekend.
