UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond plays top-seeded UMass Sunday at 1 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. Because of this, no live streaming will occur during the game.
The No. 3 Spiders dispatched second-seeded Duquesne, 17-11, in the semifinal game Friday. All Conference first team selection Sam Stevenson led Richmond with six goals. Senior goalkeeper Victoria Roebuck recorded a stellar game in goal with 16 saves.
Top-seeded No. 16 UMass advanced to the final game after a 17-3 win over No. 4 GW Friday. The Minutewomen seek their fourth-straight title which would tie a conference record.
The Minutewomen narrowly edged Richmond in this year's meeting, taking a 15-14 overtime win Mar. 30 at Robins Stadium. Stevenson scored a team-high five goals, while the nation's leading scorer, Katie Ferris, added five tallies for UMass. Richmond looks to win 11 games for the first time since 2007.
Richmond improved to 10-6 all-time in A-10 Tournament games and vies for its fourth A-10 title.
Richmond faces UMass for the third-consecutive year for the conference crown. The three-time A-10 champion Spiders' last title came in 2007.
The winner of the A-10 tournament will host a play-in game against the winner of the MAAC conference next weekend.
