Men's Golf in Fourth after Two Rounds at A-10's

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - The University of Richmond Spiders men's golf team stayed within striking distance of an Atlantic 10 championship on Saturday, shooting a second round 290 (+2) to head in to Sunday's final round in fourth place with a score of 575 (-1). George Washington leads the Atlantic 10 Championship 11-team field with a total of 568 (-8).
Junior Nick Austin had a great day on Saturday despite the soggy conditions at the Heron Bay Golf Club, shooting a second-round 70 (-2). Austin heads in to Sunday's final round tied for seventh place with a total of 142 (-2), just four strokes back of the leader.
Classmate Daniel Walker continued his strong play at the A-10 Championship, carding a second round 74 (+2). Walker is now tied for 11th overall with a 36-hole total of 144 (E).
Sitting in a tie for 19th place overall are teammates Brad Miller and Jack Wilkes with scores of 146 (+2). Miller shot a 75 (+3) on Sunday, while the sophomore Wilkes totaled a 74 (+2).
Rounding out the Spiders' effort on the day was freshman Colin McDade. After shooting a 78 (+6) on Friday, McDade came back on Saturday to card a 72 (E) and is tied for 36th with a total of 150 (+6) overall.
The Richmond Spiders men's golf team will to finish strong at the Atlantic 10 Championship on Sunday morning, with tee times scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. Live stats for the third and final round of action can be found at RichmondSpiders.com.
