Oliver Named NCAA Free-Throw Champion

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Abby Oliver was tabbed the 2012 NCAA Division I free-throw champion and the Spiders finished first in three-point field goal percentage.
Oliver's 93.8 percent mark (106-113) from the charity stripe ranked first in the nation. As a team, Richmond sunk 163-420 from long range for attempts for a 38.8 percent accuracy.
Oliver sunk a career-high 10-for-10 free-throws against Liberty in December. Oliver went perfect from the line in 19 games this season, 10 of those games making five free throws or more.
Oliver's 93.8 percent free-throw accuracy ranks second in a single season, while her 296 career free-throws ranks sixth all-time. Oliver sunk 85.1 percent (296-348) of her free-throw attempts during her decorated four-year career at Richmond.
Richmond boasted a 38.8 percent mark (163-420) from the line this season, with three players shooting 35 percent or higher from behind the arc.
Richmond made a season-high 12 treys against GW this season, bolstered by Rachael Bilney's school-record eight threes.
Oliver was the lone senior on this year's 23-9 squad.
