UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- The Richmond women's basketball team announced the dates of its 2012-13 Atlantic 10 Conference schedule Tuesday morning.
Richmond begins its A-10 slate at Hagan Arena against Saint Joseph's Jan. 12. The Spiders open their home conference slate against NCAA Sweet 16 participant St. Bonaventure Jan. 16. The Spiders then travel to the Bronx to take on the Rams of Fordham Jan. 20. Richmond returns home to host consecutive games against Saint Louis and Xavier, the latter of which will be televised on CBS Sports Network Jan. 27 at noon.
Richmond travels to Temple Jan. 31 before hosting rival Dayton Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 3 at 11 a.m. on ESPNU. The Spiders play road contests at George Washington and Duquesne after their nationally-televised game against the Flyers.
Richmond will not play a home-and-home series with the Colonials and will not face La Salle in the regular season due to the number of teams in the conference.
Richmond returns to the Robins Center to host Massachusetts Feb. 17. The Spiders then host cross-town rival and new A-10 member, VCU Feb. 20. Richmond travels to new member Butler Feb. 23 and continues road play at Rhode Island Feb. 27. The Spiders host Charlotte Mar. 3 in their regular season finale.
The Atlantic 10 Conference will play its 2013 Women's Basketball Championship game at the new state-of-the-art Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the league office announced on earlier this year. The women's championship finale will be conducted in conjunction with the men's semifinal contests on Saturday, March 16 and will be televised on the ESPN Networks, while the first three rounds will once again be held at Michael J. Hagan '85 Arena on the campus of Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, March 8-11.
