Barry, McDonald Earn A-10 Weekly Honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Richmond field hockey standouts Rebecca Barry and Kerri McDonald swept the Atlantic 10 Conference honors this week, with Barry being named A-10 Player of the Week and McDonald earning Rookie of the Week honors.
Barry, a midfielder from Limerick, Ireland, scored two goals - including the game winner - in Richmond's dramatic 4-3 overtime win over Columbia on Friday. Barry also scored one goal and tallied two assists in an 8-1 victory over Georgetown, giving her a team-high 10 points on the season.
McDonald, a freshman midfielder from Dromore, Norther Ireland, earned A-10 Rookie of the Week honors after scoring her second career goal in the 8-1 win over Georgetown.
The Spiders (3-1), return to action this Sunday at nationally ranked Princeton.
