Richmond Falls On The Road At La Salle

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The University of Richmond men's basketball team dropped a hard-fought game at La Salle on Saturday afternoon, 71-59.
With the loss, the Spiders fall to 11-6 overall and to 1-1 in Atlantic 10 conference play. La Salle improved to 11-4 and 1-1 on the season with the victory.
Playing without junior forward Derrick Williams for the third-straight contest, the Spiders were led by sophomore guard Kendall Anthony who scored a team-high 13 points. Junior guard Cedrick Lindsay had 12 points, four assists and four rebounds, while senior Greg Robbins added 10 points.
In the first half, Darien Brothers led a balanced Spider offensive attack, scoring seven points. Lindsay also had a great all-around first 20 minutes, posting six points, three assists and three rebounds. At the halftime break, La Salle held a slim, 33-30 lead over the Spiders.
In the second half, La Salle was able to hold on to its lead throughout the final 20 minutes, winning the A-10 contest, 71-59. Freshman Alonzo Nelson-Ododa continued his strong play of late, totaling six points, six rebounds and three blocks.
The Richmond Spiders men's basketball team will face new Atlantic 10 foe and No. 14/17-ranked Butler in Indianapolis for the first time on Wednesday. Tip-off at historic Hinkle Fieldhouse is scheduled for 7 p.m. and can be seen live locally on WTVR Digital Channel 6.3.
